Small Habits That Make a Big Difference
Hello and welcome to the Grainery blog!
I am Dave Labrenz the new owner and operator at your favorite health food store in beautiful downtown Baraboo. I am so excited to continue and grow this wonderful center point of health and wellness in our community! I believe that small sustainable habits over a long period of time have such a big impact on our lives whether they are negative or positive.
Here are a few tips to help you get on the right path of making those positive changes so you see big results:
First ask yourself “What are your goals?” This establishes a clear destination. No matter if it's a fitness, professional, or even a relationship goal we need to know where we are going. Make sure it is measurable, realistic, and has a deadline to accomplish it.
Next ask yourself “What daily habits are going to hinder my success and which ones are serving to support my success?” Be very honest with this question. Our environment is filled with distractions that can pull you off track. Whether it's the food we eat, our social circles, or of course our devices, we will be tested everyday to stay focused on what we are working for.
Now that we have established what habits are not going to support our goals, we need to change that habit or replace it with an appropriate habit. If your goal is to eat healthier and one of your daily habits is eating out for lunch, we need to change that action with either a healthier choice when you go out or taking it upon yourself to cook healthy meals to pack for lunch. The key is making sure to change or replace the habit, not drop it all together as that can have a negative effect as in this situation would be not eating lunch at all.
The last tip I have is to not expect perfection right out of the gate. It took time to develop bad habits, it will take time to develop Healthy Habits!!
I am grateful that I get to share this space with you all. I believe that everyone is entitled to a healthy life and it is also our responsibility not to take it for granted.
Until next week, GET BUSY LIVING YOUR BEST LIFE!!
