Meet Dave Labrenz
My name is Dave Labrenz and I am proud to announce that I am the new owner of the Grainery Health Food Market in downtown Baraboo!
Growing up in the small town of Brooks in South Central Wisconsin surrounded by agriculture, home grown and healthy has been flowing through my veins since day one. Whether it was the vegetables fresh out of our 2 gardens, or the fresh beef and pork from the farm my dad worked for, sustainability and fresh food was just our way of life.
After graduating high school I took my love for food to Culinary School where I honed my cooking skills that I learned from my mom and grandmothers. My path as a chef took me to work in the Dells for many years at places like Great Wolf Lodge and Sundara in and Spa.
In my own pursuit to make a healthier life for myself I found my next passion in the fitness industry as a personal trainer at Anytime Fitness. I fell in love with helping people succeed in finding the strength to show up for themselves by making healthy decisions that impacted their day to day lives. Food Choices are obviously a big factor in making those goals a reality so I got Certified in Nutrition and I have been serving the Baraboo community as a personal trainer at Pulse Fitness and Training for the last 10+ years.
When I was approached by John and Sandy to take over the Grainey as they were retiring, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring my two passions together and continue what John had envisioned the Grainery to become. I am so excited to serve you all in this new realm to continue encouraging and educating our community to make healthy decisions.
